Bingo Patterns
There are literally 1000's of bingo patterns, limited only by the creativity of the human mind. Some cards already have the pattern you need highlighted for easier play, but almost always you will start with a blank card. That being said, bingo players do enjoy some sort of familiarity, so most of the games you play will probably consist of the basic patterns.
There are static or standard bingo patterns which cannot be moved, shifted or rotated on the card. There's moving or crazy bingo patterns that can be rotated by 90º increments (90, 180 or 270 degrees). Finally, there's wild bingo patterns where the bingo pattern is static but can be located anywhere on the card. Below you'll find over 100 examples of the most popular bingo patterns.
If a game is played "Any Way" then it can be rotated in any 90 degree increment and you would still win (90° 180° or 270°).
Below are the most common and popular designs you will run into. There are many possible bingo card patterns that can be played and there are also bingo cards that have the pattern already marked/highlighted. These bingo cards have three basic designations:
- Static or standard bingo patterns. These bingo patterns cannot be moved or shifted on the Bingo card and are won only when every square of the pattern that is marked/highlighted on the card is covered.
- Crazy bingo patterns. These bingo cards allow the pattern to be rotated in 90 degree increments for a winning bingo pattern match (by 90 degree, 180 degree or 270 degree).
- Wild bingo patterns. These bingo cards have scattered patterns. The bingo pattern stays in the same place (static) but can be located anywhere on the card.
General Bingo Patterns
These are more of some kind of shape. It could a single alphabet like C, T, S or a shape like aeroplane, Arrowhead, Diamond, Frame Outside etc.
Blackout Bingo
Of all the bingo patterns known, coverall or blackout bingo is perhaps one of the most engrossing and thrilling bingo pattern ever played! As the name suggests, the aim of coverall bingo is to mark off all 24 numbers from your card within a predetermined number of calls.
Blackout bingo pattern is purposely made to extend the duration of a regular bingo game, making it an even more adventurous affair packed with nerve-racking moments of anticipation and joy. Unlike regular bingo, where any 5 numbers in a row gets you bingo, blackout pattern requires you to cover all 24 numbers on the card to be declared a winner. Anyone who marks off all the numbers on his or her bingo card first wins the jackpot. The game does seem a little drawn out at times, but the eventual excitement of winning makes the entire slog worthwhile.
Winning blackout bingo may seem easy on the surface, but it really isn’t. If you want to survive in the game, you must have the luck of Irish on your side that day. Covering all 24 spots within first 40-50 calls is far from simple. Generally all blackout bingo games are winded up within the 40-50 or maximum 60 calls (depending upon the number of players in the game). This makes it an all the more exhilarating experience. If there is no winner within that preset number of calls, the size of jackpot will reduce considerably or there will be no jackpot at all.
As the player has to cover all 24 numbers on the card, he or she must pay unswerving attention to the numbers being drawn. Even one missed number can spoil your chance of winning the game. Agreed that the game is bit complex but, at the same time, it ensures high level of engagement and excitement all the way through.
